First things first. I've learned that in a relationship, if you want to know something, go straight to the source. When you beat around the bush and ask other people, that could make your partner upset with you or you could get the wrong information because it might have been just rumors. If your boyfriend has been acting wierd and has apparently told your best friend that he doesn't really want to date you, then let him break up with you. Doing it yourself isn't going to matter, because either way, it's over. It happens, yanno? But regardless on whether you'd like to believe it or not, there's someone better out there for you. This guy, he obviously realizes that he needs to step out of the way for that other guy to fall in place. Just remember not to frown, because there's bound to be someone who'll fall inlove with your smile <3 && plus, us witty girls are here for ya darlingg =]

just leave him alone until tomorrow. then ask him what's going on. and see if you can fix things. but if you don't wanna fix them, then just break up with him.
