It's actually over.
What everyone thought would never end, did. It's actually over.
All the promises, the smiles, the laughs.
They all mean nothing now. It's over.
The worst part is, he's standing there, with his friends,
Almost completely unfazed.
He said sorry, sure.
He said it tons of times.
But how do you know if you believe him?
He's lied along.
But now you're broken.
Heart broken, music blaring, and you're sad.
You're unbelievably sad.
You lock yourself in your room and cry.
You'd do anything to start over, and fix things.
But it's not meant to be. That's all there is to it.
It's not meant to be.
The sooner you tell yourself that, the sooner you believe it.
The better off you'll be.
I've been heartbroken, yeah.
Just recently, too.
I know how bad it hurts, and this is what I've been telling myself since it happened.
Now I'm sharing with you, hoping it will help you too.
Forget the jokes.
Forget the smiles.
Forget the hugs.
Forget the kisses.
Forget the late night phone calls.
Forget the "I love you"'s.
All of that means nothing now.
Just let it go, slap on that smile, and forget.
I know it's hard to do now,
But don't give up.
No matter what happens, don't give up.
Believe in yourself.
That boy, he's stupid for letting you go.
He's stupid for not realizing how amazing you are.
He's going to remember you for the rest of your life, and he's going to regret it.
He's going to work up the courage to call you back,
Ask you for a date.
Maybe explain what happened.
But you're going to say no.
Why?
Because you've realized you deserve better.
I know you don't think so now,
But it's true.
So, turn the music down.
Put away the ice cream.
Stop crying.
Take the cover off the ruined pillow, replace it.
It's stained with mascara anyway.
Do all of that,
and SMILE.
