You and Her


I could swear I was invisible,
Your arm was around her shoulder.
I should be able to handle it,
Now that I am older.

It’s been quite a while since,
I last thought about you and me.
I shouldn’t feel anything,
And mad I really shouldn’t be.

But it all just came flooding back,
The memories that were.
I thought that I was over you,
I was one hundred percent sure.

So why do I now feel again,
That I should be with you?
When I told myself again and again,
That me and you were through?

It’s hard to believe for any moment,
That what I just saw was true.
I’ll leave you be and walk right out,
And leave all of my feelings there too.
