My eyes slowly
opened and I carefully rolled over to check what time it was.
4:30 am. I layed still for a couple minutes before realizing
I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. I turned on my
phone and adjusted my eyes to the light. 2 new texts. Both
from Ryan. "Hey sammy, if ur awake text me back cause i
need to tlk to u" He sent that one at 2am. The next one
was at 4:22, "sam please wake up i need u". My
heart began beating faster than it normally does and I was
fully awake by that time. I quickly folded my blankets off of
me and got out of bed. I called Ryan as I walked to my window
and opened it. Everything was silent as I climbed onto my
roof except for the ringing in the phone. After 13 long rings
it went to his voicemail. "Hey you've reached the Ry
Guy but he's not here right now.." My voice screamed
into the phone, "..but he'll get back to you
whenever the f-ck he wants cause he's king!" My
heart started hurting and my throat started feeling tighter.
I hung up before the beep came and called again. Voicemail,
again. I didn't give up. I called again as I continued to
walk across my roof. Once I got to our spot, I sat down and
brought my knees to my chin. For the 6th time, I dialed his
number. Whispering in my knees with my eyes closed, I
repeated "come on Ry, pick up.. pick up".
"Sammy?" My eyes shot open and my knees fell loose
along with the rest of my body. I hesistated before
responding. "R-Ryan, what's wrong are you okay, what
happened?" "I'm scared, Sam." "Where
are you?" "Infront of her house Sam, I'm
scared." "Ryan, come over, now. "I'm
walking up to her door.." I stood up and started pacing
on my roof. "Ryan, listen to me. Stop. You can't do
this, Ryan please come over, please." "I'm on
her porch.." His voice was shaky, he was nervous, scared
out of his mind. It was quiet between both phones as well as
the night. It was summer and the crickets were barely
chirping. The street light flickered across the street and
the trees silently swayed in the short breeze. I took a deep
breath and waited. "Sam..?" "Ryan."
"I'm sorry.." "Don't be sorry. Just
come over." "I rang her doorbell.."
"RYAN!" I jumped down from the highest part of my
roof, ran back to my window and almost tripped. I basically
jumped back through it, falling onto my floor. I held the
phone to my ear, remembering my dad was still sleeping, I
held back my scream. "Ryan I'm coming." The
line went dead as I quickly got up.
