Aided by an Angel
Chapter Six:
Miracle's
POV:
The afternoon at the beach went
swimmingly, and just as cheesey as that joke was. The boys tossed
us girls in the ocean and chased us around the sandy beach and we
did all the typical beach things a couple of teenagers could
possibly think of doing. Two by two, everybody left to head back
to the beach house. Zac ended up leaving with Autumn and Charile
for a reason, I couldn't even tell you; I didn't even
know he was gone until I felt a set of large hands cover my
eyes.
"Zac," I giggled, beginning to tug at the
fingers that my long eyelashes were batting against. "I
wanna see you, Silly." He let me go and, instantly, I spun
around to a disappointment.
"Happy now?" When I saw Parker standing
behind me my face fell a little, along with my heart. I
crossed my arms against my chest, careful of not pulling down my
bathing suit top. "I know I'm not who you
wanted to see, but at least I am here."
"Where did he go?" Parker ran his fingers
through his wet curls and started to pull his tee shirt back
on; I guess we were going back home? I pulled a
hair tie off of my wrist and attempted to put my
stringy hair in a bun.
"Back with Autumn and Charile. They were
talking about a bonfire after dinner?" I rolled
my eyes and began to walk; to where? I don't know yet.
"I take it you don't want to go?"
"It's not a bonfire, are you stupid?
It's going to be them sitting in a circle outside drinking
and being stupid." My feet pounded angrily in the cool sand
back to the house. Parker agreed with me, but suggested we
ditch. "And do what?"
"What do you mean do what?" He swung his
arms out, hoping that I'd catch attention to where we were.
"Let's get all hot and go spend the night on
the boardwalk!"
"You don't literally mean, 'spend
the night on the boardwalk' do you?" I teased him,
knowing the real answer was know. It was just really fun to get
under his skin.
"You know what, I'm done." He wrapped
his arm around my waist and tossed my over his shoulder. I
shrieked in protest, but nothing made him put me down; even the
stares from the poor bystanders. "Nothing to see here,
folks. Move along." Once at the steps of the beach house he
put me down and told me to get cleaned up.
After washing out the salt water from my dull,
brown hair I blew it dry and tossed it up in a bun with a floral
head band to keep my baby hairs out of my face. I stepped into a
pair of pink shorts and pulled on a black tank top to match; my
blue cardigan covered my shoulders, since the temperature was
starting to fall.
Parker took me back down to the tourist area so we
could walk the boardwalk. He insisted on paying for us for the
evening and took me on every ride. I normally don't do
heights or roller coasters when I come to places like this, but
when I'm with Parker I do everything. He walked me in a few
small shops and we took thousands of pictures.
I tweeted one of us sporting girly sunglasses and
making duck faces with a caption saying, Hottest thigns on the
block, ra hur ;) xx'. I'd probably get a few
favorites and maybe a retweet or two; we weren't really as
popular as our parents were when they were our age. Then again,
we were never famous like our parents were, eiteher. Our
fathers' fans started to dwindle away after all of use were
born; I guess they didn't like us?
We stopped by a pizza shop and grabbed a slice
for dinner, since we did not want to go back to the house. It was
probably wrecked by now and Parker and I would be spending the
night together. Again. "So, you having fun this
weekend?" Parker shoveled his pizza into his mouth, and
somehow getting it all over his face. I just laughed and began to
wipe the sauce off his cheeks.
"Well, it is fun hanging out with you a
lot, but besides that? No." I continued to tell him
about Zac's reaction to my singing plan. He was a little
taken back by how he acted, too.
"That's not like him. I wonder why he's
acting like that now? I still think you should go for it,
Mir." We tossed our trash away, and started to head back to
the beach house. If it was up to me, we really would
'spend the night on the boardwalk'.
"You really think my dreams are worth breaking
Zac's heart, Styles?" His eyes narrowed in on me as
they grilled me with stupidity. "Okay, I got it.
Goodness me." I pulled in my sweater and covered my chest;
it really did get cold down here at night.
"No man is worth your dreams and a real
man wouldn't want you to sacrafice them for him." I bit
at my lip and watched the planks of the boardwalk pass
by under my feet; why did he have to say that? Didn't he
already know I doubted mine and Zac's relationship?
"Hey, I'll race ya?" He started to jog once we hit
the street's asphault.
"Parker, I'm in thongs! Wait!" I
bent down to unhook my sandles' straps as Parker took
off down the street. "You suck, Styles!" Once they
were off, I sprinted to him, making sure I wouldn't let him
get away from me again.
