Comparing our lives to that of those in Africa just isn't a fair comparason--don't people get that?
I take things for granted, yes, but I think we all do. I've learned to not think about the smell of my own house because I'm always in it, as I've learned to not think about the food on my plate. I don't have their experiences. 1st world problems are still problems. They're still hard to deal with.

I totally agree but COMPARED to starving children in Africa with no education, food, and other things we have just makes your problems look a little less important. If i had to choose no phone for a day vs. no food for a day.. i guess yunno what i would choose hahaha

Thank you! I hate it when I have a problem and people are all "you're not a starving kid in Africa so be thankful". I am thankful, but that doesn't make my problem any less important to me.

You're right, but your life is 50 times better. Everyone has problems and drama of their own, but that's seriously nothing compared to the lives of starving, homeless children. The fact that you have internet access and a computer to put this post on proves it.

The kids in africa would RATHER die than deal with what they do. Lots of them DO end up dying because they can't be taken care of. There's diseases all over and they can't get rid of it and they just have to deal with it because they don't have medicine and they can't just go to a hospital. They live their short lives in pain. They don't choose that. Teenagers do.

I said peoples problems don't matter? Lol, okay. Tell me where. Oh yeahh. I didn't say that. Our problems, again, are minor compared to those kids. Why don't you try go living there where you probably won't get food, internet, a proper bathing, dirty clothes you won't be able to wash, and sickness you can do nothing about.

You, yes you. We don't care about what you say. No one does. You know why? Because you're not a starving kid in Africa. Lol. Do you see how messed up that sounds? She didn't intend to offend anyone with this quote. I've read a lot of her quotes, and I can tell she's a pretty sweet and chill person. All she's saying is that she, just like many others, have important problems. Even if they don't include being in pain (maybe) or having her own life on the line. It's dumb to fight on quotes. If you don't like something, don't bother commenting and starting drama. Getting kind of annoyed on how much dramas been added to witty since this whole "reply to comment" thing came. It's a privilege to get to respond to people and thank them for their comments, don't make Steve take it away and just lay off.

Well then, I guess that makes two of us because I intent to speak my mind to. No, we are not, and I never said we are as helpless as starving kids in Africa. All I said is our problems matter too. And lol. How old are you? 13? Think you're so cool because you're swearing at someone over the internet? Good for you. And no, I'm not helpless, but I don'y have a perfect life either. No one does. And you cannot sit there and tell me you never EVER complained to your parents about something that you don't have that you want. No. That would just be a straight up lie. And you know what? I do have a bed to sleep in. At my grandmas house, since it's the only place we can stay for now. Clothes? Yes. Hand-me-downs, not the best clothes, but clothes. I'm home schooled, the only way my parents can afford to get me an education. So before you wander around assuming all of us "stuck up spoiled teenagers" you should think about what they may be going through. No, I am no starving kid in Africa, but that doesn't mean I have the perfect life either. And you know what? I bet you, just like many other teenagers that you consider stuck-up and spoiled, complain about phone's and friends all the time. Ever have a boyfriend? And ex? So, you're trying to tell me you never complained about them before? Get a grip. You're such a hypocrite.

To all the other comments vv everyone's problems matters. doesn't matter if you're the "top 5% of the world", everyone has their own problems and they can seriously break them. Like when you guys feel bad cause someone's being bullied. I don't see you saying how their lives are 100 times better than kids in africa.

Alrighty- I read through the comments. And I have to say, I agree with wittycause.
Yes, I KNOW that people have things worse then us. But-that doesn't mean that I cannot be clinically depressed, suicidal, a self harmer, or anything else. ( and for the record, I am those.) For the record, I am aware of how bad things are over there. My family is fortunate enough to be able to sponsor a child. But that does not mean that people in countries such as the U.S or here where I am in Canada, or the U.K., or anywhere else that is first world cannot have problems. Honestly, you can't really compare them. The problems of those in third world places are different types of problems.
Heck, this whole thing is the reason that I did not get help until after my suicide attempt- because I thought, "My problems mean nothing when others have it worse."
The thought like this is also harmful in a way.
So, yes, I know what things are like over there. Yes, I know I have it five million times better then what the kids in third world places have it.
But that doesn't mean I can't have issues as well.
