Living Out of
Lies
Chapter 1
Reese's POV
I
woke up an early Monday morning realizing it would be my first
day of my new school. I was happy to finally leave my hell hole
of a home. Even if I did end up as a loner as I was in my old
school, it was better than anything to get out of my abusive
father's home. Yes, not 'my' home but my
'fathers' home. I can never call this a home when
he's here. I jumped out of bed and ran to the shower. When I
was done I dressed into a red v-neck with black skinny jeans and
slipped on my converse. I grabbed a hoodie with it because it was
starting to get really cold 'cause of winter finally coming.
I put on a little bit of mascara and eyeliner on my ocean blue
eyes and that's usually all the makeup I wear. I started to
comb throught my straight jet black hair to smoothen it out. I
quietly walked down the hallway to make sure I don't wake up
my father. I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door. I decided
not to get breakfast because any time soon he would wake up and
my morning would be very ruined.
I walked down the sidewalk and started to pay attention to my
IPod deciding which song to play. After looking throught it a
couple a times I played Forget About It by All Time Low. As I was
realizing where I was going I ran into a guy couple of feet
taller than me. I'm 5'4. He was really muscular, I could
already tell. His back was hard as a rock. He grabbed onto my
shoulders before I could fall and I looked up. He had these
beautiful brown eyes with specks of green in them. His dark brown
hair swept to the side and he had one of those amazing side
smiles.
"Oh uh, erm sorry, I wasn't paying attention," I
said in a low voice not daring to look up into his eyes.
"It's fine. Do you go to Bronx High?" He asked. His
voice was really deep but not the scary type of deep. I nodded
back and he smiled again. "Great, can I walk with you?"
I didn't answer him but I kept walking and he walked with me.
I was quite fine with it honestly. By the time I got to the
school he was lost in a crowd of what seemed to be the populars.
I didn't even get his name. I walked in the office and got my
schedule and went to my locker where I put all my stuff in. I
walked in my first period which was history. People kept looking
at me and whispering. It was really annoying.
The rest of the day went by like that and I found a way to ingore
it. I sat by myself at lunch like I did in my old school as well.
I was walking out of the building when I hear a,"Hey!"
I turn around and find the same guy from this morning.
"Hey," I say softly. "You don't talk alot do
you?" He asks. I nod my head and we both walk
again.
The whole way was really silent but a comftorable type of
silence. Next thing I new I finally got to my door. "Good
bye," he says. "Oh and my names Austin,I live
just two houses away," and he walks away. I never got to
tell him my name...
I walk inside and see my father. I realized I was half an hour
late to get home because I had to get some extra stuff done from
afterschool and I forgot to tell him.
"What are you doing late!?" He yells at me. His vain
popping out.
"I had to stay after for a little bit from school," I
said flinching slightly waiting for the first blow. He slaps me
but says, "Your first warning for not telling me
anything," and he leaves. I rub my cheek and walk upstairs.
I turn off my lights and silently cry myself to sleep. My life is
hell.
