Aubree's Point of View

I'm not sure how long that I ran, but I know that it had been a while. I looked through my tears at my surroundings, but I wasn't really sure where I was. I was near a beach. That's pretty normal I guess, considering I live in California. I hadn't been to the beach in a long time. I used to go every year with my family, but I haven't been for about 2 years now. Aiden was always too drunk to care.

I sat down on the beach, which wasn't crowded at all. There actually wasn't anyone here except me. And there was a little restaurant a bit down the beach. I sighed and lay down, looking up at the slightly gray sky. Why did any of this have to happen to me? I went to cover my face with my hands, but when I touched this skin I flinched back in pain. Aiden must have really hit me hard.

I woke up to rain pouring down on me. Seriously!? I don't even remember falling asleep. This is just perfect. I stood up, wondering where to go, when I finally decided I would see if the restaurant was open. I started to run, but then stopped. Whats the use? I was tired from running here and I was already soaking wet.

As I approached the entrance, I could see lights on inside. Thank God. Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder burst through the sky, and I was terrified of thiunderstorms. I ran as fast as I could into the diner, and before I could stop myself,

I burst through the door, colliding with someone on the other side.
