The floors in my hallway were flooded today.
After last bell I was walking, unaware of how wet the floors were.
And I wiped. out. 
In the middle of a busy hallway. 
I just lay there for a second, nursing my hurt wrist as everyone laughed.
Then a senior boy came over, picked me up, handed me my books, asked if I was okay. 
While his friends were laughing at the stupid freshman who slid, he helped me. 
Maybe the world's not so cruel after all.
