OMGGGG I was just about to make a quote about this!!!! I always answer in German!!! I usually answer "Hallo?" "Ehm, ich kann kein English... sprechen Sie deutsch?" and by that time they're being all apologetic and like oh sorry sorry and I'm like "Es tut mir Leid! Tschuess!" and then hang up if they haven't already hung up on me.
