Chapter 2
Rylen's POV:
When I woke up, my hair
was knotted and my pajamas were wrinkled. I slowly dragged myself
to the mirror where my only enemy stood, staring back at me. I
decided not to have something like last night, so I quickly
turned and headed downstairs. I walked towards the fridge, and
opened it, only to realize that there was little to nothing
within it. I sighed, and tried the pantry, but again was
disappointed when I realized there was not food in there,
either.
My mother was not in the house and
where she was, I never knew. My dad was at work like he always
was. Even though the weekends were usually days off to most, my
dad spent his long hours at work. I settled for the last bagel we
had, and was bummed to see that it was already half eaten.
Thanks a lot, Mom.
I sat at our island in the
middle of the kitchen as I ate the half eaten bagel. The radio
was on quietly playing the usual Sunday mix, and I sang to a few
songs before getting up to throw my trash away. I was still
slightly hungry, and decided that I would get dressed and walk to
the dunkin donuts down the street.
As I walked up the stairs I
tripped over my own feet, and luckily caught my self on the ramp.
I hate being so clumsy, I thought to myself as I finally
made it to the bathroom without killing myself. I turned on the
shower, undressed, and stepped into the warm water. I sat there
thinking about what I was going to do for the day, and then began
to wash my hair. After rinsing the shampoo out of my hair, I
shaved, put in the conditioner, and then washed my body.
After rinsing out the conditioner,
and rinsing off the bodywash, I got out of the shower to dry off.
I walked from the bathroom into my bedroom making sure that I
wouldn't slip. I closed the door behind me, and began to get
changed. I chose my cute yellow sundress that went to a little
above me knees. The dress tied around my neck to keep itself up,
and it had a belt around my waist. I wore my white gladiator
sandals, and my "dance like no one's watching"
necklace.
I looked at myself in the mirror
once more before leaving. I didn't see anything but
disappointment when I stared at the thick, long brown hair that
fell past my shoulders. The humidity made my hair poof up too
much no matter what I tried to do with it. The freckles across my
face took up too much of my face, and the big brown eyes stared
back at me without shining.
I was tired of feeling the hatred I felt towards myself.
