I don’t know how long it’s been since Carter and I have been in the water, but it had gotten darker and windier. That bad feeling started creeping up on me again. “Umm, Carter, I think we should start getting ready to head back, or at least go somewhere to eat. It’s getting kind of dark.” I said, barely loud enough to hear myself; yet somehow he heard me. “Yeah, you’re right. Let’s go, we can get dinner on the way.” He said, taking my hand and leading us out of the ocean. “Hey Carter, what time is it?” I said drying off a bit before putting on my shorts and T-shirt. “Uhhhh, 5:30,” he said, checking his phone and tossing it back in the bag before throwing on his shirt. “Alright, well my curfew is 10 o’clock so why don’t we hit the ice cream shop and then we can go to the fair. I’ll call my mom and tell her the deal. She won’t mind.” I said, waving my hand in the air like I always do. “Alright, you sure they won’t mind? We could always chill at your house instead.” He said, almost like he didn’t want to be seen in public with me anymore. “No, they won’t mind I’m sure of it.” I said, I didn’t want to spend my night at home watching some stupid family movie with Carter while my parents are sitting right there. “Alright, good, I get to keep you all to myself for a while.” He said smiling, hugging me from behind. I never knew the most popular guy in school- I mean Carter- would be so open to just share his feelings. Out of all the girls in the world, he chose me. I really couldn’t believe this was happening. I just knew that once fall came, I’d be off to ISHA while he’s here, with all the same girls year after year. “Hey, you okay?” He asked, nudging me slightly in the side. “Huh? Oh, yeah, I’m fine, just got lost in thought I guess.” How stupid of me? God, I need to get off of Cloud Nine, especially around him. Focus, Quinn!
~ So... I'm writing again!! I've had a few people inspire me and I don't wanna let them down. I know , I know. slow chapter.. It'll get better, I swear ! this part & part 4 are short,! sorry about that! ~
