Nothing's What It Seems
Chapter 13
I walked outside looking for my sisters BMW, and couldn't find it until she honked three times at me. "God, Emily!" someone behind me shouted. Jared came up behind me and put his arm around my waist, and pulled me next to him then kissed my cheek and walked away. "Shut up Jared." I said with a smile in a sassy tone. He turned around and smiled at me. I waved goodbye at him and got into the car with my sister. "Took you long enough." she said. "Sorry." I said in an apologetic tone. "That was him right?" she asked with a smile as she started driving. "No, other guys besides my boyfriend run up behind me and kiss my cheek." I said in a sarcastic tone. "I'm just checking!" she said laughing. "That was very cute. I can tell he really likes you." she continued. I smiled and we pulled out of the school parking lot and drove to lunch.

We went into the mall and decided on going to the cheesecake factory. There was a 15 minute wait, and then we were finally seated. "Guess who I saw before you came out?" Becca asked. "Who?" I asked curiously. "Ryan." she said in a disgusted tone. "Ugh." I said. "I know." Becca said. "Did he say anything to you?" I asked Becca. "Well first he stopped and stared at me for at least 30 seconds, then when I thought he was gone but he pulled up right next to my car, and said 'Say hi to Emily for me" she explained. "Ew. He is so creepy! What did you say?" I asked. "I told him to stay out of my face and yours." she said. "I love you." I said. She laughed and our waiter came and took our order. Becca ordered the grilled chicken and I ordered the Tuscan chicken. While we waited for our food to come we talked about Becca's wedding. "When are all the dresses coming in?" I asked. She was taking a sip of her diet pepsi, but immediately put it down when I asked and she said, "Well they'll be ready soon, but we have to go to a final fitting about a week before the wedding!" she said excitedly. "I'm so excited!" I said. "Me too!" she said. "Do you know what you're doing for your bachelorette party?" I asked. "I'm thinking we'll do that a month before the wedding and we'll fly to Napa, California and just have a fun vacation!" she said. "Ahhh! This is all so exciting!" I said. Our food came and we ate then split a piece of Hershey cheesecake.

We went shopping at J Crew and Ralph Lauren and even though we were only in 2 stores we spent over 3 hours in both combined. I bought 5 pairs of shorts, 3 pairs of pants, 6 or 7 shirts, 2 sweaters, and 2 dresses. "Retail therapy is the best form of therapy ever." I said walking out to my sisters car. We threw our bags in the backseat of the car and it was already 5. "Thank you for this." I said to my sister. "No problem." Becca said. We cranked the music and sang all the way home.
