Once there was a boy,
who got abandoned and abused by his parents.
And a man adopted him.
One day they were talking, and the boy was
crying.
" Can I tell you
something? There are a lot of empty boxes in your head,
boy" a man said
"There are a
lot of empty boxes in there, and you can put stuff in
them." He added.
"What kinds
of things?" The boy asked.
"Sad
things" The man said. "Do you have a lot of sad
things in your head?"
"No" the
boy replied.
"Well I
do." The man said. "And do you know what i did to
those sad things? I put them in the boxes. I put the sad
things in the boxes in my head, and I closed them up and
put tape on them and stacked them up in the corner
and threw a blanket over them."
"Brain
tape?" The boy suggested.
"Yes, brain
tape. And a brain blaket over top. Now I don't
have to look at those sad things anymore. I could open
those boxes sometime, I guess if I wanted to, but mostly I
just leave them sealed up." The mad said.
"How did you
use the brain tape?" The boy asked.
"You have to
imagine it. Imagine those sad things in the boxes and
imagine taping it up with brain tape. And imagine pushing
them into the side of your brain, where you don't trip
over the top. Do you have sad things, boy?" The man
said.
"Mom."
The boy said.
"What
else?" the man asked.
"The
water," The boy added.
"My..."
And he looked at the scars he had.
"Me." He
said.
"Put
everything in the boxes but you, boy. You we want to keep.
Promise me you'll stay here with us." The man
said.
*Got this from the book forever. It's a really good
book. And I just changed a few
parts.
