I am shocked and beyond words.
At my grandma’s house, we have cats outside. Last spring or so, a stray started hanging around with the other cats and he was afraid of humans. Over the summer, I tried time & time again to try to pet him. Near the end of the summer, I finally accomplished this feat. All day, I got closer to him. Over the months after that he got friendlier and friendlier. Today was no unusual day, except for the fact that the cats wanted to wander into and across the road to explore, I guess. My cousins, my sister, and I were playing catch, all the cats were okay. After it got dark, everything was normal. Then my cousin’s dog walked over to my grandma’s, and I went to walk up to the door to greet her, but Grandma was there and she made the motion for me to be quiet. I was confused. Then I saw it. A dark, small creature laying in the road, unmoving. I knew then that something was not right. My dad walked out there, and in silence, walked over to the shed and grabbed a shovel. It was the kitty. That kitty had always been my dad’s favorite, and now he had to bury him. I’m at a loss for words and it makes me so sad. Everyone loved that cat and now he’s gone.
