Chapter 47

Sam beams and reaches over and hugs me tight.
"Oh Ari, I missed hearing your voice." he whispers into my hair and kisses the top of my head.
I laugh. "I missed being able to talk to you."
He gets out of his side of the car and rushes over to my side before I can get out and opens my door.
When I get out, he intertwines my fingers with his and we stroll inside, to find Mrs. Johnson, Bree, Charlie, Matt and Nick standing there. When I open the door, Charlie pulls a string which pulls down a banner that says "WELCOME BACK ARI!" and everyone screams "WELCOME BACK ARI!" and all come over to greet me, except Nick lingers behind, probably still feeling out of place. Sam told me about what happened at Walmart while we were at the hospital.
I smile warmly at everyone, and we get onto a group hug. Then motion for Nick to come and join us. He gives a half smile and comes and joins the hug with the rest of us.
I think I might have made another friend. I think cheerily to myself.
I need all the support I can get.
