The  instructor said,

Go home and write

a page tonight.

And let that page come out of you-

Then, it will be true.

I’ve made friends

good ones too

I have one here I have one there

You have me like I have you.

I’ll admit I’ve made mistakes

but haven’t you?

I don’t understand what caused

you to think those mean thoughts,

I don’t think I ever will.

We had fun times

We bounced up and then down!

we ate popcorn and rode our bikes...

We had same thoughts and opinions,

most of the time

Middle school changed,

you weren’t the same.

You started wanting something,

popularity...

Something I didn’t care for

but then it started,

nasty stares beating on me.

I tried to remove the drama from my life

But you don’t back down from a fight. 

Words said here and there,

tough nights tough days.

Rumors started that weren’t true

I know you don’t like me

But in the end all that counts is that I am who I

want to be.
