I am in the same situation right now!! He's a pilot and said that he'll fly me anywhere I want to go...omg so sweet right? I am keeping my distance because it's too hard to reject him. And I try to hang out with him while we're with other people too and show more interest in the other people to let him know that I'm friendly like that normally and that I'm not leading him on :/ and no youre not being mean. The fact that you'd post this quote just shows that you care about his feelings

I was in the same situation/: I didn't handle it too well either..
When he tried to ask me out, I ran away. Then, somehow he got my phone number and texted me "So I'll take that as a yes." (Which, really, is he an idoit?!) And my BEST FRIEND stole my phone and sent him "Yes."
So yeah, I wouldn't do it that way...xD That's the dumbest thing I've ever done.
I'd just keep your distance as best as you can, if he does confront you about it just be honest. Think about how you would feel if it were you. Just explain that a) he isn't your type, b) you are interested in someone else, and c) you're sorry but you just really don't return the feelings.
btw, while rissa7373 is right looks are not everything, it does count for a smalllllll percentage whether we want to admit it or not, so don't feel bad about it being one of your reasons!

the fact that he's slightly unattractive is your number one is just...stupid for a lack of better words. looks aren't everything.

Honestly, I was/am in the same situation.... x.x i just kinda kept my distance and avoided talking to him as much as possible. hopefully he got the hint by now... maybe this will work for you? idk...
