I awoke to the buzzing of my alarm clock. After I slammed it with my head, I groggily got up and went into the shower. When I was getting dressed, I swore I heard a male's voice...Who would be here at five in the morning? I walked downstairs for breakfast, to see Cole sitting casually sitting at the island, talking to my mom.
"No, it's totally fine. There's a breakfast deli right down the street, and we have plenty of time before school starts." He said to my mom. 
"Good morning." I blurted out, to get their attention.
"Belle!" Said my mother. "This nice boy Cole wants to take you to breakfast before school. Would you like to go?"
"Sure." I said.
"Come talk to me really quick, honey."
She brought me into the living room, where he probably wouldn't be able to hear.
"Now," she said. "I do not want you getting into any...'boyfriend-girlfriend' relationship with him. You know that it is my choice who you date at your age."
"Mom!" I said. "That is not fair. I...I hate your stupid rules! You never let me do anything! Can't I just have this one choice?"
"Don't you ever raise your voice at me again. Or I will not even let you so much as speak with that boy. Now, go out there and enjoy breakfast with him."
She pushed me out of the living room, and led me outside with Cole. After she slammed the door, I walked down into Cole's car.
"What happened?" He asked.
"What do you mean? Nothing happened."
"Obviously, something did happen. I can tell by your face. You look mad."
"It's nothing. Let's just go." I stared blankly out the window, thinking of what my mom had told me. Maybe it is time to let loose, like Cole said. Maybe I should break away from my mom.
We had a really delicious breakfast, and he drove on to the school.
