Invisible
Chapter 2
I stood up, preparing myself to
walk over to Dylan to start on our elements. I suddenly beame
very nervous when I saw he was seated at a table with 4 chairs
around it.
Of these four chairs, three were occupied. Kate in one, Dylan
seated right beside her, and Cam sitting across from him. Leaving
one seat next to me. The seat right next to Cam.
Now don't get me wrong, I sooo wanted to sit next to him, but
I just wasn't prepared. I had been dreaming of ways to strike
a conversation with him for years but I never thought I'd
actually get this far.
"Hey, ummm.... Marie" Dylan said as I pulled out my
chair.
"It's Maura," I said giving a fake smile,
"Nice to meet you."
"How long have you been in this school?" he asked
me.
Kate quickly piped in, eager to be involved in conversation,
"Oh Maura has been going here since the 6th grade. She's
from Florida."
He looked me up and down, "You don't look like a girl
from Florida."
He was right. I don't. I have the beach blonde hair but
that's about the closest thing I have to being Floridian
looking. My skin is super pale considering my face and arms are
dotted with freckles. I have light hazel eyes, although I'm
not sure if eyes can really classify you that much.
"Haha I get that a lot. I guess that's why I left, since
I never really fit in."
I never really fit in here, in Pennsylvania, either. That
didn't need to be said, we all knew that.
"So who wants to get to work?" a deep voice coming from
my right uttered.
Cam!
"Nahh, I'd rather just do some chatting for now"
Dylan said, smiling at Kate.
She giggled and quickly agreed.
Cam looked at me, "I guees it is just you and me"
I got excited, and maybe too eagerly said "YES!"
He gave me an amused look and smiled.
"Okay so what's number 1 on the table?" He asked
looking at me.
"Hydrogen." I replied quickly, trying to impress
him.
"Pssh, I gave you and easy one. What's number 56?"
he asked
"That's Barium, but you probably didn't know
that." I said, engaging us into a competition of sorts.
"You know, just because I'm a prep, doesn't mean I
can't be smart" He said taunting me.
"Smart boys don't forget girl's names" I
challenged him
"That was Dylan. I would never forget a girl's name as
pretty as you Maura Easton."
He knew my last name. It may have made my whole life then and
there. The bell rang right then and he rushed out the
door.
I could not wait until 5th period tomorrow.
Is it good? Trust me, the whole 4
people reading my story :), it gets better. It won't be all
perfection for Maura the whole time. I promise drama is to
come.
Please leave feedback/like so I know if anyone is still following
my story! Thanks
