Dead silence.
“Well, to be honest, Kenn called me this morning. I'm sorry for not telling you earlier.” I said in a worried tone.
“Lemme see your phone C.C.” ( The Lowedens love to call me C.C., it's easier than Cass, Cassie, or my real name, Cassandra.) I tossed it in his lap. “It's not a payphone thank god.”
“What's the difference if it's a payphone or not?” I replied.
“I can call, and demand to speak to my sister stupid.” I could tell he was getting really impatient with me. “Aye, do you want anything?”
“From where? We're on the highway.” I questioned.
“I'm getting off to get dinner smartass.” Madd snickered. I continued to wonder where Kennedy really was, until I was awoken from my daydream by my catchy text tone. “Sexy & I Know It”
“ C.C. Phone.Phone.” I slid my iPhone up and saw that Dyl texted me.
“Cass, you're f**ked.” I jumped and did a double take.
“Oh my god.” I froze.
“What's the matter?” Madd asked.
“Dyl texted me. My mom found out. I'm screwed!” I screamed.
“I thought you told her...”
“I guess it didn't send..” And at that moment, I gazed in horror. My mother left me 17 voicemails and 32 missed calls.
