Ruined
Chapter
3
I walked down the sunny hallway as
my head pounded Friday morning.
I squinted my eyes to keep the bothering sun out as much as I
could.
The parties Declan made me go to were doing a number on me.
Well, not so much the parties as how much I drank while I was
there.
I entered my trig class and sat in my usual seat.
To my surprise, Drew sat in the empty chair next to me.
He turned his body so he was facing me, and smiled.
"Ay, Annabel." He said.
"Hi, Drew." I grinned in return.
His gorgeous blue eyes looked into my green ones as he spoke
again.
"You wanna hangout tonight?"
My heart raced and I stopped thinking about my splitting
hangover for a moment.
"And do what?"
"Well, I was thinking we could chill at my crib and watch
a movie?"
I scattered my brain for any plans Declan would have made for
us.
Nothing came to mind, but I still hesitated.
If Declan found out I was hanging out with Drew, things would
not go down well.
But I can't live my life being careful because of Declan,
right?
"Yeah, I'd like that." I said before I could
change my mind.
His smile widened and exposed his straight white teeth.
As our teacher started talking, Drew turned back towards the
front. And in doing so,
he grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers in mine.
I blushed and held his hand in return.
Finally, a night where I can just relx and curl up next to a
nice guy. A night
without getting obliterated. A night where Declan couldn't
ruin anything.
And I was really happy for that.
After class, my bubbly mood was still in full swing.
But I hadn't gotten very far when, of course, someone had
to ruin it.
Declan came up from behind me as I was making my way to
lunch.
He grabbed my upper arm and walked next to me as he spoke.
"Yo, we have a little kick-back to go to
tonight."
No, this can't be happening, I thought.
"I-I can't tonight, I have a sick aunt in the
hospital. We're taking a trip up there
to visit tonight. I'm really sorry." I lied
quickly.
A dark look came across his face. "You never mentioned
this before."
"Yeah, well I never really had the need to tell you."
I replied in a light tone.
He grumbled, but nodded, and walked away.
I let out a relieved breath that I just realized I had been
holding in.
Sorry
it's a little boring, feedback
please!
