liked him since 5th grade. (I'm in 7th now) I've
liked him since the first day I met him, and
we've been best friends ever since. He used to like
me in 5th grade, but I'm not sure if he still does.
the thing is, i really like him, and I'm not sure if
I should tell him or not. I'm afraid if he
doesn't like me, that it will ruin our
friendship.

I think you should go right out and tell him ;) if he likes you back then you're in luck, and if he doesn't im sure he will later after he knows (thats what happened to me) :)
