Chapter 2

I cried the night John and Allie started dating. I couldn't stand it. John totally lead me on, then let me fall flat on my face. Allie annoyed me even more now. Everytime I see her, shivers run up my back. I wonder if John even knows how hurt I am, or if he even cares. He probably doesn't. I felt so hated, so alone. John called me the day him and Allie went out. He asked if I was okay. He knew I wasn't, he knows me too well. I asked him if that was why he ignored me, because he liked Allie. He said yes, he liked me and Allie, and didn't know who to choose, so he chose her. Of course he did. I'm never good enough for anyone anyways. The next few days during writing class was extremely awkward. John ignored me, and when he did talk to me, he was either making fun of me, or talking to me rudely. We used to be best friends before we went out, if he wont date me again, I at least hoped we would become best friends again. But I know we wont, and we never will. I was staring at John during writing class.
"Oh Logan, knock it off!" Maya said. She was tired of me and John, she hated him, the way he treated me, which I understood. I hate him too.
"I-I'm sorry. I cant help it. You have Ethan. You know how it feels to be in love." I said. Ethan was Maya's boyfriend.
"Yes, I do know. But Ethan doesn't treat me horribly like John does to you." She had a point there. My eyes dazed off onto him, again.
"Are you going to TownFest at the park this weekend?" Maya asked, changing the subject. TownFest is an annual thing they have at this park in my town. All the little kids who play town basketball have games all day, and theres food, and pretty much everyone from my school goes.
"Yeah." I said. We promised to meet up at TownFest.

I just arrived at TownFest when I saw Emma and Maya. We started to walk around and then we saw Ben. We hung out with Ben for a while. His mom was at TownFest and he introduced us to her, we also met Ben's brother. Shortly after we saw some of our other friends Jenna, Mariel, Liza, Drew and Gabe. We all went on the playground and bought ring pops and ice cream from the Snack Shop. It was so much fun. And the best part? No John. Just me and a bunch of my good friends hanging out. No drama. No troubles. After a few hours, Jenna, Mariel, Drew and Gabe all left. Leaving Emma, Maya, Liza, and Ben. Ben had to go ref a basketball game, so we all went to go watch him. When we got there, he put on his ref jersey, and started talking to the little Kindergarten kids he was refing. He was so good with kids. It was adorable. The game was hilarious too, randomly the little kids would be running then fall down on the ground. It was so cute. After the game, we played a little basketball. I kept on trying to steal the ball from Ben, but he's really good at basketball, so it was hard. When it was time to go, Ben hugged me. And that short hug brought up feelings. I was falling for my best friend.
