Kidnapped

Chapter 2
(Skye's Perspective)

I hopped off the bus and started my walk back home. My bus stop was kinda in the middle of the city, so I had a lot of places to stop and grab food, a pack of gum, or anything else handy. I walked into the mini mart right next to the police station. The shelves were stocked with basically anything you’d want. Gum, Candy, donuts, chips, ice cream freezers, soup cans, chicken and fries, Gatorades, water, and yes, Chinese food.
 
“Hello, how are you today, Skye?” The man behind the register asked. He had long, shaggy black hair that went behind his neck, and he had a 5 o’clock shadow. I turned to him. “Umm, fine?” I said. How does he know my name? Have I seen him before? Maybe he’s the dad of one of the swim team’s kids and he recognizes me from the meets. Maybe he’s my long lost uncle? I don’t know. I browsed through the isles, hoping to make a quick decision. I decided on a mini tub of Ben and Jerry’s Half-Baked ice cream and brought it up to the counter to pay.
 
“Ah, hello again Skye!” he grinned at me. “How do you know me.”  I spoke out defiantly. The man chuckled. “My brother, Francis, is your homeroom and English teacher. He was showing me his class list, and I recognize you from your picture. No worries, I’m no stalker” He said, throwing his head back laughing. “Are you one of the Rose-Commons?” I asked. “No, I just go by Commons. Francis just is all stuffy and proper. Me? Hell you can just call me Xavier – it’s my first name.” He stuck his hand out for me to shake. I hesitantly stuck my hand out and met his grip. We firmly shook hands and handed him my ice cream.
 
“That’s all?” Xavier asked. “Yup.” He calculated the price. “That’ll be 3.49.” he looked up grinning. I threw a 5 dollar bill at him. “You can keep the change.” I said. “Hey thanks!” I walked out the door. “Hey Skye!” Xavier called. I turned around. “Why don’t you stop by tomorrow, so we can have some time to get to know each other?”  He called out. “Yeah, sure”, I called back. I then stepped outside and got out of there as fast as I Possibly could.
