kidnapped)
She stood at the cliff. Her hands clenched in
fists. Looking down over the edge, waves crashed to the rocky
shore. Anyone who jumped would instantly die as soon as they hit
the water. Closing her eyes, about to take her last breath, there
was a scream in the distance. “STOP! NO! DON’T
JUMP!” A voice called out over to her. “Lana,
don’t jump. Please. I’m begging you.” He walked
up to her. He wrapped his arms around her. Squeezing her tight,
whispering in her ear “I love you. Don’t leave me.
There’s no point to life without you.” The girl
looked down, then shakily looked up and said to him, with tears
in her eyes. “Then jump with me. We can jump
together.” He looked down on her. The beautiful pink
sundress she wore flew in the breeze; her cheeks were stained
with tears, her eyes bloodshot from no sleep in days. “Grab
my hand.” The girl said. Taking her hand, he met her gaze.
The boy squeezed her hand, and said “On the count to three,
we can jump.” Tears were forming in his eyes now. He
silently said goodbye to his family. To his friends. To the life
he was going to leave behind. “One.” He whispered.
“Two.” The girl whispered back. He kissed her on the
neck, and held onto her as tight as possible. She wrapped her
arms around him, the tears on her face dropping onto his
shoulder. Kissing him, she whispered her last words.
“Three.”
