I Never Knew
Chapter Two Part
One
I looked up at the
clock in my French class, it was only third period and
I already felt like the day would never end. Mrs.
Deneau was going on about a
new verb concept that I couldn’t be bothered
with. I looked around the room reading all the tacky
posters that the teacher put up to motivate the people
in the class but no one ever really took notice to
them. I was so anxious for this afternoon that I could
barely sit still.
I needed a way to get out of class for a while so that
I could get away from this waiting game.
“Miss may I got to the wash room please?” I
asked to Mrs. Deneau. I didn’t really have to go I
just wanted an excuse to leave her boring class.
“Yes you may Alex just make sure you sign out and
take the hall pass.” She answered.
Not even two seconds after she answered I was out of my
seat and out the door. I wandered the halls for a bit
wondering where I should go. I ran down the stairs
towards the gym to get a drink, when I saw that there
was a grade ten boys gym class outside playing
baseball. I quickly took a glance out the window to see
if Ryan was in class but I couldn’t see him. I
then wondered if he skipped class and wasn’t
coming back to school. Nah he’s not the type of
kid to do that.
I decided to head back to class before Mrs.
Deneau calls the office and
says I’m skipping class. I walked back up the
stairs and started to head towards my French class when
I walked past a group of guys standing in front of
Ryan’s locker.
I didn’t feel like dealing with Ryan’s
friends at the moment because sometimes they can be
really awkward. So I decided to walk past them and
pretend that I didn’t see Ryan at all. Even
though I knew that all I wanted to do was go up and
talk to him.
“Oh hi Alex I didn’t see you there.” He said as I
passed him.
“Uh… Hi Ryan” I said with an awkward
smile that you could obviously tell that I forced onto
my face.
“Are you skipping out of class?” He
sarcastically stated as he turned to his friends. They
all just stood there and laughed then looked at me as
if the were waiting for me to do something amazing.
“Haha well sort of
I’m just going for a walk.” I replied in a nervous voice
trying to look cute and cool in front of the guys.
“Well have fun with that.” He said as he closed his
locker and turned towards his friends and started to
walk the other way.
As I walked back down the hall I could hear them
talking to each other and for some reason I believed
that they were talking about me. “So that’s
the girl eh?” one said. “Not bad.” Said another one.
Then I heard them laugh and their voices started to
fade as I got closer to my French room. I quickly took
my seat and started on the work sheet that was on my
desk.
I was so confused why would they be talking about me
like that? It’s not like Ryan has a crush on me
or anything… Maybe they found out about us being
partners in history. I continued to list possibilities
in my head until I heard a loud noise. The bell had
gone off and third period was over. I grabbed my books
and headed out the door and to my locker, when I
realized that there was only one more period till the
end of the day.
I
Again I just started this story and I'm looking for
some feedback :)
