I Never Knew
Chapter One Part Two
“Okay, that
sounds like a good plan and everything but, I have a
football game tonight.” He said gesturing towards
his jersey. “What if you come and watch the game
and then after we can go back to my house to work one
it?” Ryan added as he opened up his binder and
grabbed a piece of paper and started to write something
down on it.
“Alright that sounds good.” I answered with
a crack in my voice. Me, Alex Turner just another grade
ten girl is going over to Ryan Parker’s house
tonight, after a football game that he asked
me to watch. My heart started racing again and the
butterflies returned.
“You, have a cell phone right?” He asked me
as I snapped back into reality.
“Yeah I do.” I answered hesitantly.
“Oh good then I can text you after the game so we
can meet up.” He said with a smile. He folded the
paper that he was writing on and handed it to me.
“Okay so here’s my number text me your
name.” He said excitedly.
“Wait why don’t I just add it into your
phone now?” I asked hoping that he wouldn’t
get freaked out.
“Okay here.” He said as he handed me his
phone.
I glanced at the small screen and began to type in my
name. I wanted to look cute so I added a smiley face on
the end of it then I added my number and saved it.
“Here you go.” I happily said to him as I
handed back the phone.
“Great I’ll text you after school to tell
you where my mom is picking us up at.” He stated
as he grabbed his phone. The well rang, and everyone
was getting up and heading for the door.
“See you tonight partner.” Ryan said as he
got up and collected his books.
“Uh yeah… see you tonight.” I
replied just as he left the room.
I got up and collected my books, and then I made my way
out of the classroom. I couldn’t help but smile
as I walked down the hall to the stairs. It seems like
everyone can tell that I’m excited about
something because they are all giving me looks of
approval. I can’t help but wonder why Ryan seemed
so happy to be my partner. I’ve seen him with
other girls that he has worked with and he never seemed
that happy before. Maybe it’s because I sit right
in front of him and always let him copy my work sheets
when he asks. Or maybe its because I’m actually
good at history.
I made my way down the steps, and then continued
to walk through the halls to my locker as I thought
about all the reasons why Ryan seemed so happy to be my
partner. I step in front of my locker and start
fumbling with my lock until it opened. Then I put my
books up on the shelf and grabbed my lunch money. I
closed my locker and headed to meet my friends in the
cafeteria. I then soon realized I still had half a day
to go until I get to see Ryan after
school.
