it has to be the age you turned or are turning in 2011

That's because it's 2011... So you add what you are or what you will be turning this year, and the last two digits of the year you were born.... For example, I'm thirteen and was born in 1998 so 13+98=111

She means your DOB + how old you are/will be turning this year. For example, if I was born in October 1994, I would be turning 17, 94+17=111
