They just want to know that they can get your number. I hate those guys. One time my friend said no to a really hot playerish guy at school, and he was like "Oh, you don't have a phone?"
and she was like "No, I have a phone, but I'm not giving you the satisfaction."
he was like "Okay? Fine, I wasn't going to text you anyway."
And his friends laughed at him.
