Playing The Game
Part three
As I was walking home, I heard footsteps behind me. “Hey,
Alexis!” I heard that smooth voice I had heard in the
cafeteria say.
“Hey, Collin!” I said a little too
excited.
“Sorry about lunch. Brittany can be
really…protective sometimes.”
“It’s alright. I don’t want
to ruin anything.”
“We don’t have anything. Me and
Brittany I mean…there’s no chemistry or
anything.” I felt my heart start beating a little
faster. “Actually, I don’t even have a
girlfriend.” My heart was racing at this point. He
smiled. He could clearly see I was happy about
that.
We started to walk back to my house. Just as we turned the corner
into my neighborhood, Collin grabbed my hand. “Sorry,”
he said letting go. “I was kind of acting on
impulse.”
“Well, that’s perfectly fine with
me,” I said blushing and taking his hand
back.
As we approached my house, Collin stopped dead in his tracks. I
turned around. “What?”
“Well,” he said nervously,
“since you’re fine with me acting on impulse,
there’s something else I would like to
try…”
“Um…okay then…” I
said a little confused.
He put his free hand on my cheek. His hand was
rough from football, and warm. His eyes captured my attention more
than anything though. They were curious and confident at the same
time. They were screaming out words, but reserving them as well.
His lips touched mine so gently, they were like rose petals. It was
so exciting but so calming at the same time. Once we finally
parted, I saw that his cheeks were a deep shade of pink. I giggled
a little at the fact that he was blushing, which made him blush
more.
“I guess I’ll see you at school tomorrow
then…?” he said with a hopeful smile on his face. I
was at a loss for words so I just nodded. I watched him as he
walked away, before I had to enter the horrors of my
home.
