Chapter 1
Zoey's P.O.V.

"Zoey Alexis Porcha!" My mom hollers from downstairs.
I groan, turning over and burrowing under my fluffy down comforter. The warmth embraces me, but as soon as I get comfortable, the blankets are whisked away. "What the hell?" I spit, sitting straight up.
"Get up." Michelle says, walking away.
"I am up." I grumble as she approaches the door. "Thanks to you."
She smirks, then opens the door and exits, shutting it with a bang. I force myself out of my warm cocoon, and fling open the door. First day of school. I think to myself. The thought echoes in my head as I thunder down the stairs and into the kitchen. There, Michelle sits at the table, biting gingerly into a piece of buttered toast. I grab a piece for myself and slather it with peanut butter, before studying my sister.
Most people can't guess that Michelle and I are related; let alone twins. We are different in every way possible, physical and personality-wise. While Michelle is a typical California girl, with her sunny blonde hair, ocean blue eyes, 5'6" frame, and tanned skin, I am more at home with our Silversprings, ME environment. My chestnut brown hair cascades down my back, emerald eyes embedded in my face. My skin is adorned with a scattering of freckles, and underneath lies a pale sheet. I am, however, the same height as my twin.
Emotionally and mentally, we're both smart. But that's our only similarity. Michelle is more outgoing and popular, while I, still with a large group of "friends", keep more to myself. We're into different things, but the main difference?
Michelle is pure, innocent, good.
I, am not.
