Three Bitchateers
Steph [Part II]
So many
tears were streaming down my cheeks that my face could easily be
mistaken for a f**king river. "W-why didn't you tell me?
I had some kind of idea that my sisters existed. You knew the
truth, but you just let me make a fool of myself. What kind of
parents are you? Well I know what kind of parents you
aren't- mine."
My "mother" sat down, in tears as
well. "W-we didn't know what to tell you, sweetie. That
your biological father is a criminal? He killed your biological
mother? How could we say something like that to someone we love?
It isn't easy."
With my hands, I concealed my face
& wiped a few teardrops away. "What hurts more is
knowing I wasn't worth the truth. You guys don't love me.
You've been making me feel insane for the past few years,
telling me I was delusional. These girls I've been seeing all
around me- they're my sisters?"
My "father" clasped his hands
together. "No matter what we tried, your mother struggled
getting pregnant. So we decided to adopt. There was a great place
near your grandparents in Allentown, Pennsylvania, your original
town, so we took a visit. We signed up to adopt you because we
thought you had the prettiest eyes of all your sisters."
I struggled to breathe. This was all
too much. All my life, I felt alone. Misunderstood. I never had
too many friends. I always wished to have sisters... was 11:11
finally paying off?
"Do you know where my
sisters are now?"
"Well, Kayla King is one of
the most recognized faces in the United States. Which really
didn't help us keep the secret from you. We did our research;
she resides in New York. And I'm guessing the other sister
lives in Whitehall, since we always see her when we
visit."
"I-I need to find
them," I blurted. "On my own."
"Stephanie, no. You
can't just leave," my mother protested, grasping my arm
tightly.
I gaped at her with wide
green eyes. "If you truly love me, you'll let me
go."
What happened next... I
never saw it
coming.
