Baby girl, that's NOT a best friend. And the guy you're about to start dating is, as far as I know from experience, not interested in her. Message him back and tell him what you just put on here if you haven't done that already. She's not a best friend, she's a man stealer. Don't associate with people who screw you over, they aren't worth your time.
