The male and the female have , then the female hands over the eggs to the males pouch and then they hatch.

Lol sorry to disappoint butthe female still gets pregnant... But after a certain amount of time the female hands off the eggs to her mate and the eggs are just held in a pouch much like a kangaroo. Lol and when the babies are ready to hatxh they hatch lol no pain invloved as far as i know lol. But i still love the quote :)

Actually..... they can get 'Divorced' where they mate for a long time, then they 'break apart'. I did a research.. on seahorses.
