Chapter twenty-two part two
"You think I want it to be his baby?" I shouted, growing angrier with every passing second. "Do you think I want to look down at my child and see Johnny's high cheek bones or his gorgeous moss green eyes? Do you think I want to remember all the horrible things he did to me, forcing me to scream his name or he choked me harder?" I hadn't realized I was crying until a single tear fell off my chin.
  I sat down on the bed, burring my face into my shaking hands. I felt Jessie sit down next to me.
 "I'm sorry." He whispered.
 "I'll be fine." I said, wiping my eyes. "I just need some Crystal." He jumped up automatically.
  "No, you can't have any." He said.
  "Jessie, I'm going through withdraws and my nerves are on end. I need some to calm me down." I replied, heading towards the desk. He grabbed my shoulders, stopping me.
  "Amy, no. You have to stop."
  "But I don't want to stop. I don't see you stopping!"
  "I'm not pregnant." He replied. "You will kill the baby if you don't." The words that came out of my mouth were filled with anger.
  "I don't care. All it has done is made us fight since I found out. Maybe once it's dead we can have a little fun again." I couldn't believe what I had just said. I didn't want the baby to die. But deep down inside, I found that I did think I would be better off if it had never lived.
  Jessie let go over my shoulders, obviously affected by my harsh words. He went over to his clothes and slipped on his boxers and pants, ignoring me. He threw the towel on my bed and grabbed his shirt.
  "Why are you leaving?" I asked. He stopped at the door and turned around.
  "You're different than the girl I fell in love with." He said, sadness filling his words. "The girl I fell in love with was the girl I wanted to raise a family with. I wanted to spend my whole life with her. But now, the new girl just isn't what I want." Then he was gone.
  That day Jessie Gantro and I parted, going our separate ways. I made a vow after he left that I would change. I would change and we would be together again. But that was getting harder and harder to do.
