don't be his friend.. I don't want to be mean but usually those are meaningless words, guys just say that because they think it'll make the break up easier on us girls... but there's a reason him and his ex broke up the first time, so in my opinion you've still got a chance

NO dont be his friend! That is really rude and disrespectful for him to ever do that. Forget about him and go find another guy. He will one day realize the mistake he made but until then stand tall and don't let him or anyone get in your way
