I walk up the Stairs as they loudly and sharply creek, some more than others. It is cold. I feel a sharp pinch on my middle toe, it goes away in an instant because my feet are numb from the chilling breeze coming from the window. I guess it is a splinter but i don't care because i just want to know what is up in this attic my parents denied was ever here. I am walking, step by step. I step on a stair that creeks very loudly. I hear a loud squeal, not knowing if it was me or the red eyed fat rat that just ran across the step, over my foot, and into a large hole on the other side of the stair. I hold my chest, trying to slow my heart from that mini panic attach the rat just gave me. I start to walk again. I stop. I scream then place my hand over my mouth attempting to hold my scream to a minimum volume. I see sacks. Sack that look like bodies. I close my eyes and pray to wake up... it doesn't work. I hear my parent come up, they probably heard my scream. I panic, my heart racing. I run over to hide behind a large piece of wood, stepping over 4 bodies in the process.
