I smiled to myself.
She liked me! I picked up my phone, scrolled down my
contacts to Rory’s number, and called her.
“Hello?” she answered.
No “Hi, Hello?” Wait, what am I saying?
She’s Rory. And her hello was
nice.
“Hey Rory! It’s Colton,” I
said.
“Oh, hey!” she said cheerfully.
“Hey, so I was wondering if you wanted to get
pizza tonight?” I asked.
Just like Drew and I did, I thought.
“Sure!” she giggled. “Pick me up at
… seven o’clock?”
“Sure, what’s your address?” I
asked.
“I’ll text it to you,” she
said.
I smiled. “Kay, see you tonight.”
“Bye!”
I hung up and lay down on my couch. Oh boy. I was
going on a date with Rory, when all I really wanted
was a date with Drew.
---
“No way, you horseback ride?” I
asked Rory.
She nodded, “I have since I was little. And all
my sixteen years have been spend around horses.
Before I could ride, I’d watch my Dad ride, and
I’d sit by the horses and just watch them all
day.”
Wow, I thought, That’s
amazing.
“Rory, I really like you,” I said.
She looked up at me and smiled. “I like you
too,” she said.
I smiled at her. I was just about to ask her when she
wanted to do this again when the pizza came. I smiled
and looked up at her. She looked just as hungry as I
was.
---
“We should do this again,” I said
as I dropped Rory off at her door. She looked up at
me and smiled.
“Yeah,” she said, “Soon.”
I smiled at her and she went on her tiptoes, kissing
my cheek.
“You’re really sweet, Colton,” she
said.
I couldn’t speak so I just smiled again.
“Text me,” she giggled and went inside
her house.
