Dearest friend,
I cried today
All because you died today.
I felt so alone,
Like no one even cared.
Then I heard your voice saying,
“I’m still by your side, no need to be scared”

I now walk down these streets
Holding my head up high.
I do this, for you my friend,
Because you told me not to cry.
I felt that I would insult you,
If I even shed a tear.
So for you my friend,
I smiled throughout the year.

Life feels so different now,
Without you by my side.
