My dad picked me up early today, because
I
couldn't stand being at school. I felt too weak.
He asked what was wrong. "Nothing," I replied.
"Shannon, you've got to stop faking everything.
You're graduating in two days, and you've been
faking your smiles through out the whole year.
You can't lie about something when it's hurting you
that much. It's not good to keep things inside. It's
just gonna make you more insecure. You can't
keep on doing this whole mind over matter thing,
it just doesn't work. If you wanna cry, cry. No
one's going to stop you. It's good to cry. It's
good to tell someone how you feel, whether it's
me, your teacher, your friends, or Shelby.
(Shelby is my dog) There's not going to be a
day where you can walk up to me and I won't listen.
I'll always be there for you. I know that you miss
your mom. I'm sorry I can't do anything to help, but
I'm honestly sorry. If you wanna cry, just do it.
Don't keep anything to yourself anymore,
because it all just keeps making
the cloud heavier until it starts to pour."
