Chapter:42
Once Carter came over, dinner was ready. He ate with us and seemed
to make a good impression. Not that it really mattered or anything
since he made a good impression on Taylor. My mom and Luke
seemed like they could careless about him. Todd talked to him a lot
but still. Carter is more like a fun few weeks relationship. That
may sound bad but I think we'd be better as friends anyways. After
dinner we went for a walk. He was pretty quiet. I was too.
"So what you thinking about?"He asked.
"Us."I said.
"Same."He replied.
"Good or bad?"I asked.
"Not sure yet."He replied.
"Same."I said. It may sound like this conversation would
be awkward but it wasn't. But like I said Carter and I seemed like
we would be more friends than boyfriend and girlfriend. But we are
boyfriend and girlfriend which is good I guess.
"You look really pretty today."He said once we got to my
house.
"Thanks. You look pretty good today too."I said and he
smiled. He gave me a kiss, still with no spark.
"Bye."He said smiling.
"Bye."I smiled back.
......
The week flew by and it was already the weekend. Well Friday night
atleast. Luke and my mom left today to go on their hunnymoon since
they never went on one in September and it was October now. They
were going to Europe. I was stuck here all alone to go visit my
dads grave alone on his anniversery coming up this Tuesday. I've
been there alone before but not on that day. I pushed that aside
though so I wont get upset over it. Its a Friday night and Carter
is taking me to some party. Not a dressy party but a house party.
Todd, Brett, and Aubrey were going too. I was going to Aubreys
house before. Which was where I was walking to with Todd and Brett.
I was in the lead and they were following.
"How are you doing?"Todd asked me once we were walking up
the steps to Aubreys house.
"Huh?"I said.
"You know with your mom not being home for the week your dad
passed away."He said giving me the stare. I cringed at it.
"Alright for now, I guess."I replied. Todd went
inside.
"You hate it when people give you that look too?"Brett
asked.
"Yeah. You don't give it to me though. That what I like about
you."I said.
"Thats cause I know how it feels and woah! Woah. Woah. Woah.
Did you just say you actually like something about me? Me?"He
said jokingly.
"Hey its only one thing and I still don't like you. Thats just
a good thing about you plus you drive."I said walking away
into the house. I went downstairs to where Todd Aubrey and Billy
were.
"Hey Charli."Billy said smiling.
"Hey Billiumm."I said back while Brett was walking down
the steps. I call Billy that since his real name is William and its
fun to say.
Aubrey looked up at me examing my outfit.
"I like it."She said smiling. Probably because she picked
it out the day before.We stayed at her house for an hour and then
left to go to the party. I was meeting Carter there. At the party,
everyone was pretty wild and the music was really loud. There were
people dancing and people were inside and outside. I found Carter
outside.
"Hey babe."He said smiling.
"Hey."I said and smiled back. He patted his lap and I sat
down on it. He was talking to a few of his friends.
"Yo Charliii."Said Joe.
"Wait this is Charli?"A guy asked. I looked at him and
recognized him. He was Alex from the skatepark.
"Yeah."I said being polite.
"Well then, I guess what I've heard is true."He said
winking at me. Carter didn't seem to notice.
"So how was your day?"Carter asked me.
"Alright I guess. Yours?"I replied.
"Pretty good."He replied.
We talked to his friends for a while.
Then he asked me to dance so I did. We danced to the fast songs and
it was fun.
Bretts Point Of View
God, she looks so beautiful. Charli, I mean. She looks like she's
having so much fun just dancing around. I've never seen her dance
before and she's pretty good. Woah. What am I thinking. Charli
doesn't like me like that. She doesn't like me period. But I can't
help it. She's her. She's Charli and no other girl can compare to
her. To bad she's with Carter.

Point Of View
After we danced for a while, we went back to Carters friends. We
talked with them for a while. Then a girl came over and asked
Carter to dance with her. He looked at me and I told him he could
go. I don't really care if he dances with her. Alex came by me and
started talking to me. It was really awkward. Then Brett came by
and grabbed my hand pulling me up.
"We're dancing."He said.
"No we're not."I said sitting back down. He looked over
to Alex and I remembered how awkward it was just sitting next
to Alex so I followed Brett. It was a fast song, so we started
dancing how all teenagers do except I didn't grind on him because
thats just weird and I don't do that. Carter was watching us too
but he was still dancing with the other girl.

Point Of View
Charli looked like she was having a good time with Brett. The way
she looks at him sometimes , just like now, makes me think she may
like him. She doesn't look at me that way. I know I've though this
before but I can't help it. I can't believe a girl like Charli
would even be with me. I looked to the girl I was dancing with. She
was pretty and funny. I would go out with her, but she's not as
great as Charli. I don't know why I'm thinking this. Think good
thoughts Carter. Good thoughts.

View
It was fun dancing but after a while we stopped. Carter stopped too
and came by me. We went inside and watched tv for a while. Then
everyone started leaving so Todd came and got me and we walked home
along with Aubrey and Brett.
