I wish I had the courage

To tell you how I feel

I wish that there was some way

To make my dreams become real

Can't you read my mind?

Don't my feelings show?

I don't want to tell you

But how else will you ever know?

Maybe, someday, you'll read this

And realize that you're smitten

Maybe that was my whole intent…

Look at these words I've written.

With a boom, you came into my life

And I've never been the same.

If you like me, tell me now

Don't let me live in pain.

Words can make a heart soar

With its wings a-flapping

But if they are never said

Nothing will ever happen.

Don't let this happen to us now

Keep this in mind while I prove

That by writing you this poem

I have made the first move
