At this season of
The
Winter
Solstice
may reason prevail.
There are no gods,
no devils, no angels,
no heaven or hell.
There is only
our natural world.
Religion is but
myth and superstition
that hardens hearts
and enslaves minds.

I wouldn't say it's slavery. Religion is something personal. People's beliefs will vary from person to person, so that people interpret religion and religious texts/works/customs all very differently. At the end of the day, people can believe what they want to believe, support what they want to support, and it is by their own choice.

If you are against gays/abortion or support certain things solely because of religion, then yeah, you're enslaved.

religion does not in any way (at least my religion-christianity-doesnt) harden hearts or enslave minds. Actually it doesnt quite the opposite. My heart has been opened by God, and my mind is the opposite of enslaved.

religion, well my religion, makes me feel the opposite. its mind opening and makes me feel secure. it doesn't enslave you, you can only enslave yourself. & just because you have a religion doesn't mean you are against gays/abortions. i'm not at all. do you know how many catholic gays there are? i have a married gay couple in my neighborhood! i would have to say what polotics you are in is more accurate. i'm a democrat. speaking to most republicans, you would find more people against gays & abortions
