Don't Let Go
Chapter Four
Well, here I was, sitting in Justin's car, crying my eyes out because I was kicked out of my house for being pregnant. And I couldn't tell Justin, he might leave me if I tell him. Gosh, this is so hard. I can't get an abortion, it's against my beliefs. I don't think I could do adoption, it's too hard for me to imagine handing off my child to some couple I don't know.
"Rach..."
"Hmm?" I mumbled through tears.
"Do you really wanna go to the party?"
"Not really. But I have to at least show up. It's my best friend."
"If she's your best friend, she'll understand."
"You think so?" I asked.
"Yes."
"Okay." I mumbled, wiping the last few tears from my face, and smiling at him.
He smiled back and told me we were heading towards his most favorite place in the world.
"I'm thinking it's time to go home." Justin said while he stared up at the stars.
"Hmmph. Where exactly is home for me?"
"Well, my house. I just turned eighteen and my parents wanted me out as soon as I turned eighteen. So voila, here I am, on my own. I have a decent sized house, so if you need somewhere to live, I have plenty of room." Justin twirled a piece of my hair around his finger.
I had my head on his chest, and I listened to his heartbeat. It got faster. "That's such a great offer, Justin, really, but I dunno if I can just invade like that."
"Rach. You need a place. Right?"
I nodded my head.
"Then you're coming home with me, unless you rather go somewhere else..."
"Thank you." I smiled up at him.
1 Month Later...
"Rach. Wake up, I got a surprise." Justin shook me gently.
"Mrrmhph." I mumbled as I rubbed my eyes. "Yeah?"
He presented a lovely bouquet of a dozen red roses. "Happy one month."
Yeah. One month. Boy, oh, boy, he has no idea...
At that moment, I had an overwhelming urge to puke, so I ran to bathroom faster than I've ever ran before.
"Rach?"
"Don't...come in...here. It's...oh, gross...it's bad. I'd...stay out..." My face was sweatier than a high school football player that just made the biggest touchdown of his life. Ew.
"Rach, don't be silly, are you okay?"
"No! I'm sick I think." I cried.
"Okay, just rest today. I'll go make you some soup or something."
"No, no, I'm good. I'll just take some crackers." I went to the kitchen and grabbed about four crackers and a glass of water.
"Hey! Open up, I need to talk to Rachael!" Sara pounded on the door.
"Oops. Forgot she wanted to come over." Justin winked at me.
He went and opened the door; Sara bursted through and ran to me.
"Come, I need to talk to you alone. Sorry Justin!" Sara dragged me into the guestroom. "Rach. It's about Drake. He found out. I don't know how, but he did. We have to do something."
"Well it's not like I can just hide it forever. I'm gonna start showing sometime. I'm already getting morning sickness." I bit my lip.
"You have to tell Justin." Sara looked at my stomach. "He'll understand."
How could I tell Justin that I've been pregnant with Drake's baby? Oh great...
