Secret Love
Chapter 31
Darcy's POV:
"Yes mom." I said as I rolled my eyes.
Tyler and Brandon nodded in agreement.
"Great kids! We're leaving tomorrow, remember!" she squealed happily then disappeared back into the house.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that my mom and Randy decided on getting married in Bermuda, but wouldn't it make more sense to stay home? With our friends and family?
Guess not. Ever since Randy broke the news of our "vacation" to her, that's all she talks about.
Wedding this. Wedding that. You'd think she get sick and tired of hearing it by now?
Well, that's definitely not how my mom goes, as you can obviously tell.
"And what exactly are you packing for?" Jason asked curiously.
I hopped up and walked over to the stack of towels sitting on a lounge chair.
"Just on vacation." I bragged nonchalantly.
Jason placed his hand over his mouth in mock horror.
I giggled at his reaction.
"Without me?" he asked, following me into the house.
"Yes, without you. Tomorrow." I smirked.
Jason looked behind him as we walked upstairs, but the second he stepped in my room, he closed the door.
"What about the baby?" he asked nervously, worry seeping through his words.
"I'm sure it's fine, Jason." I said quietly, keeping sure my parents don't hear.
I'm pretty surprised that they haven't found out yet, especially since I actually look like I'd gained weight.
"But what if something happens to the baby?" he asked loudly.
He was obviously not understanding I was speaking low for a reason.
"Jason!" I yelled. "Keep quiet. If my mom finds out I'm pregnant, she'll kill-"
"You're what!?" my mother shouted, bursting through my bedroom door.
I quickly looked over to Jason, whose face was pale and was looking at me, his blue eyes looked lighter than usual. That was something I always noticed happened when he was afraid.
"Darcy Rae, did you just say you're," she lowered her head and narrowed her eyes, "pregnant?"
I looked back at Jason, who was examining my wooden floor while rubbing the back of his neck.
"I, we, um," I sighed, defeated, "yes, mom."
Finally, Jason spoke up.
"Look, Mrs. Aymes, I'm sorry. It was an accident and-" my mom held up her hand.
She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it, as if trying to find the right thing to say.
"Jason, sweetheart, could you go with the boys? I'd like to talk with Darcy." my mother said, smiling as best she could.
"Yeah, that's fine." he said, giving my hand a tight squeeze.
As he passed by, he quickly pecked the top of my head, then scurried out the room.
I bit my lip and looked down, bracing myself for my mom's shouts of disappointment and anger.
"D-Darcy." she said quietly, her voice cracking.
I looked up, finding her eyes blotchy, swollen, and red. Was my mother... crying?
"This is exactly what I was hoping wouldn't happen." she whispered, walking over to the desk filled with pictures beside my bed.
"What do you mean?" I asked, carefully sitting on the end of my bed, anticipating her answer
