Hey! So this school year I have started texting and kinda talking to this guy I like. Hes in a few of my classes and in my town there is a youth center where people can go after school and hang out and stuff, so I have talked to him a couple times. I really like him so I was always making sure I say the right thing. But a couple of weeks ago I found out he liked me too, but he didn’t know that I knew. So we would talk every once and a while and stuff and we started txting a couple of times and whatever. But then he asked me over text if I wanted to go to this big school dress up dance in January as friends and I said yes. After that we texted all the time and then we decided that we would go as friends and see where it takes us. But then in person it has kinda gotten a little awkward almost. I am not the best about talking to guys, so I get nervous around him. But once we saw each other in person, I feel like he’s nervous or just don’t want to talk to me. I have seen him at the youth center but I feel like every time I am in the same general area as him he gets nervous or something and goes somewhere else. Next Friday we are having a casual dance at the youth center, and he asked me to dance with him. So do you have any advice for talking to him or breaking this “awkward” barrier? Or do you have any thoughts on what he might be feeling or the situation?? Any advice on what to do?? reply

Be yourself. Everyone says that, but it really works. He already likes you, so all you have to do is get the conversations going. He's probably just shy. Laugh a lot and talk about anything you want. It will show him that he doesn't have to be shy around you. Good luck! :) reply
