A girl's mother passed away today.
Not out of karma, not out of weakness.
She was perfectly healthy.
She did good things.
Her family was proud of her.
She died in a coma, her family at her side,
not even knowing how serious her situation
had become when one clot in her blood,
morphed into two.
Her closest friends were there,
and she didn't know it.
She was stuck in a medically induced coma.
Before the doctors gave her the drugs,
they expected her to make it.
It isn't the doctor's fault though,
it isn't anyone's fault.
Before anyone expected any of this
to happen, she gave her daughter's school
a swim team, her friends a job, and eighteen
dedicated swimmers a smile. It wasn't selfish,
She wasn't even sure if her daughter would
join the swim team to try to get a college
scholarship. There was a need, and though my
sister was desperately trying to fix things,
it couldn't have been filled without this woman.
She stood from her seat and ran to the place
of need, and we all love her for that.
Her daughter was a friend of both of my
siblings and myself. She was not interested
in joining the swim team, but would have
any ways, just to make her mother's work
worth while.
She was the most important person in her
mother's life.
She didn't get the chance to say goodbye.
No one did.
Words of encouragement mean nothing when they are useless.
You, one day, will come across a similar situation,
heck, it might be your own situation.
Do what you can.
Be as generous, healthy and strong as she was.
For now, you'll all, or most of you, will be
completely unaffected by this woman's life.
I couldn't blame you less; she was a stranger.
Most of you will not care who I'm writing about.
For that, I couldn't blame you more.
If you care, keep your family, your friends, and your loves close.
Hold on to them.
Don't give up, and don't let them go.
Don't be weak and pathetic,
be strong like the woman I told you about today.
If you promise to do so, favorite.
If not, go to hell.
People affect your life.
No matter who it is, don't let them forget it.
~500+ faves, and it'll be worth while telling her story.
