“You're kidding me, right?” I laughed.
“It was so embarrassing,” Zach groaned. “My girlfriend dumped me straight after that, no questions asked.”
“Her loss,” I flirted.
“So, c'mon, tell me some stories about your family.”
“There's nothing much to say, I don't speak to my fathers family – they hate me because they hated me mum and I've never known any of my mums family, she ran off to get married to my father. The only family I have ever had has been Justin and Aunt Cassidy.”
“Oh,” he muttered.
“Yeah,” I said uncomfortably.
“Why have you and your mum and dad moved in with Cassidy?” I frowned. It was just my mum and me. “Sorry, that was to personal.”
“No, it's fine. It's just my mum and I, after my dad left everything fell apart and we couldn't afford paying off the house.” I don't know why I was telling Zach all of this, I hadn't told anyone apart from Grace about my mum and the house.
“I'm sorry, Logan.”
“It's fine. That house had way to many memories anyway, memories I'd rather forget.”
“Do you still speak with your dad?”
“No,” I replied through gritted teeth.
“Anyway, Logan," he changed the subject. "I was wondering if you'd go on a date with me?” He sounded vulnerable, his voice made me want to hug him for some reason.
“Y-yeah, I'd like that,” I smiled. “Though, I don't want to risk anything so can we keep it all private?”
“How about this Friday, my apartment?”
“Give me your phone.” I handed Zach my phone and he gave me his. I typed my number into his phone and handed it back to him. Zach looked at his phone and pointed it to me.
“Smile!”
“What? No!” I covered my face with my hands and looked away.
“Come on, Logie-Bear.”
“What'd you just call me?”
“Logie-Bear,” Zach grinned.
I groaned, “Zachariah.”
“Don't ever call me that, again.”
“Or what?” I taunted and in a moment, Zachs lips were done on mine. My hands rested on his chest and his got tangled in my hair. Zach held me tight as our lips moved in perfect sync. This was a feeling a would never get enough of and that frightened me, my tongue fought his for dominance. When we pulled apart, I breathed, “I guess I'll be calling you that more often if that's my punishment.” Zach chuckled, shaking his head and held me close to him.
“What if this – us doesn't work out? What if someone finds out?” I murmured.
“They won't,” he replied fiercely.
