Not Your Everyday Love Story
Chapter 1- Where It All Begins
I still remember the first day I laid my eyes on him. July 12, 2005. We were 10 years old, at our town park. He was on the top of the jungle gym and I was on the swings. As i reached the highest I could on the swing, we both looked at each other and our eyes connected. The whole world seemed to freeze. That one second we locked eyes felt like a lifetime. When we finally snapped back into reality, I was so frazzled I fell off the swing. He saw and rushed down the slide and ran over to me. "Are you okay?!", he said. "Yeah, I'll be okay. Thanks..", I blushed when I saw he was looking me right in the eyes. "I'm David. And you are..." "Skylar". "Hmm... there's something about you Skylar. Something I just can't wrap my head around. I like it".
I stood up and noticed I scraped up my knee when I fell. "Great, I'm bleeding! Do you have a band aid?", I asked David. "Not with me, but my house is right around the corner! Let's go!", he suggested. I tried to run along with him, but my knee hurt. I called out at David, "DAVID! STOP! IT HURTS TOO MUCH!" He turned around and ran towards me, "Here.. jump on my back! It's not too far".
"Ouch! It stings!", I yelled as David's mom put some clear goop on my cut. "C'mon Skylar, you're such a girl! It doesn't hurt that bad!", David said as he rolled his eyes. "I don't see you with your knee cut open and some women you don't even know slapping gross stuff on it!", I shot back. Off to the side to David's mom, "No offense or anything. I like you though, don't worry.. I was just trying to make a point". "Gotcha. Well, I think you're all set", she said with a smile as she put on the band aid. "Thanks!", I said as I ran out of the house. "You like her, don't you?", David's mom smiled. "MOMMMM!", David yelled as her stormed up to his bedroom.
--- 6 YEARS LATER ---
"Happy birthday baby! I love you sooooo much!", David whispered into my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Thanks cutie, love you too", I said turning around as I gave him a kiss. "So what do you have planned for today?", I said with a cute smile. We always plan what we do on each other’s birthdays. We have since we've been dating, 5 years ago. "You'll see... let's go!", David said running to his car.
